I am Jakob Lodwick, founder of Vimeo.
This site is on Tumblr, the blog service for busy people.
I maintain this site for people who are interested in my personal and professional life. It is not intended for a wider audience, though anyone is welcome to read it or write about it.
You can email me at [my first name dot my last name] @gmail. If I don't know you in real life, I would appreciate an attached photo.
Here are some of my friends who have good tumblogs:

I'm not listing friends with regular blogs, because there is a difference. A tumblog is so easy that the author usually posts little private mental details. Regular blogs are usually too thought-out to give you an intimate connection to the person.
Vimeo Showcases The Future Of HD Web Video (Wired) "Vimeo's HD player gives me some strange sense of hope for video on the web."
quick mention from a Danish entrepreneur 'Being able to
“stream” HD-quality video using Flash, is very new to me. I had no clue
this was possible, but with the recent launch of HD at Vimeo, it seems
to be the case. I am flabbergasted by the quality in full screen mode,
not to talk about how fast it loads. It takes 2 or 3 second for a video
for begin, and then streams without much choking.'

Post Slobbers Over IAC's Vimeo. So It's Not Toast?
(Silicon Alley Insider)
"We groove
on the concept, too, except from a business perspective: Streaming
videos that are four times as sharp costs four times as much, and video
companies are having a hard enough time making a living off of the
crappy-definition stuff."
I don't think SAI is speaking from a
'business' perspective as much as a 'short-term cost perspective'. Our
decision to add HD is part of a long-range business vision that has
nothing to do with the current crop of video-sharing sites.
Vimeo Adds HD Video Offering - Is this a Monetization
Angle? (CenterNetworks) "It is great
to see a video sharing site innovate on technology outside the player
itself."
a film critic talks about videos I make with my [redacted] Jake indicates
that Julia is able to be much more “eloquent” about her side of the
argument when there’s a camera watching. A couple of days later, Jake
posts an intimate (and rather beautifully shot) video in which he
commends her for beginning to break down her on-camera persona. In that
video’s comment threads, Julia notes that she was wearing no make-up in
the clip. “Ever since I started doing TV,” Allison admits, “I’ve felt
like makeup is my protection against the world.”
Our
audience completely rejects the notion that Web video needs to be a
lower quality than television.
— me, in
The New York Post today! Now this is what I like getting
press for.
I got a haircut!

Reggie Watts is playing a solo show at Comix on Thursday
in NYC
I highly
recommend this show, especially for someone who has never seen Reggie
perform live before. This is a full hourlong set. If you have seen
videos of him online, you don't know what you're missing; I will tell
you, though. You're missing a lot.
That said, see his
Vimeo Channel for some examples, such as his
PopTech appearance.
Is there anything fucking dumber than a Sony Bravia ad in a
YouTube player?

new version of The Hype Machine (great mp3 discovery
service) won't launch until 10,000 people are on at once As of writing,
it's at 3,026. Leave it open in a browser window and watch the number
climb.
It's incredible
that even big bands like The
Killers have MySpace pages that look like absolute shit. UPDATE: I
just looked a few others, and The Killers aren't the only ones that are
fucked up. This company, and its users, are complacency defined.

Allison: I am at the airport. They called
you my boyfriend in print! Interesting. I've never had a relationship
defined by other people before. Hmm.
